Terms of use

Last updated 10 October 2026

The service

nxtransit is free to use. It shows information that transit agencies publish, and it's provided as is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise either.

Times and alerts

Departure times, trip plans and alerts come from the agencies' feeds and can be late, incomplete or wrong. Check posted notices for service changes, and don't rely on nxtransit alone when missing a train would put you at risk.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what is saved to your account. We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the service.

Fair use

  • Don't try to get around rate limits or overload the service.
  • Don't try to reach anyone else's account or data.
  • Don't present nxtransit as an official agency service.

Other people's data

Transit data belongs to the agencies that publish it, and map data to OpenStreetMap contributors. See data sources and attributions.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses caused by relying on information shown in nxtransit, such as a missed connection.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. See also the privacy notice.
